Overview

EHS / Auditor (part-time)

Our client is seeking an EHS/Quality/Auditor for 2 days a week to support the business. Local to the Coventry/Birmingham area. The initial contract is 6 months. Home-based with travel to sites in the Midlands area.

Rate: £28.00 - £34.00 per hour + holiday pay (PAYE). £32.07 - £38.94 including holiday pay per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out risk assessment activities with strong knowledge of risk assessment techniques, including detailed activity-based risk assessments.
  • Implement and audit management systems to ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Support office and/or warehouse facilities with health, safety and environmental requirements, including fire safety, first aid, and workstation assessments.
  • Manage and oversee contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with HSE standards.
  • Deliver effective HSE inductions, training sessions, and safety communications to employees, including production/warehouse teams, service engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Conduct site inspections for field service engineers and subcontractors to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for administrative tasks, reporting, and documentation.
  • Demonstrate strong IT/administrative skills and effective driving/travel to Coventry/Birmingham and customer/project sites.
  • Show strong communication and report-writing abilities.
  • Complete regular site visits as part of the role.
Qualifications
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in risk assessment techniques, including activity-based risk assessments.
  • Experience implementing and auditing management systems to ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Experience supporting office and/or warehouse facilities with HSE requirements (fire safety, first aid, workstation assessments).
  • Experience managing contractors and subcontractors to ensure HSE compliance.
  • Ability to deliver HSE inductions, training, and safety communications; experience with production/warehouse teams, service engineers, and subcontractors is desirable.
  • Internal Auditor Qualification and experience in process mapping and procedure development are desirable.
  • Experience in field service environments or strong electrical safety knowledge is desirable.

Note: This role involves regular site visits and travel within the Midlands region.
