Qualifications

  • Proven experience in an HSEQ Advisor or similar role within manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of BRC, ISO management systems, especially ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Full-time work availability.
  • Experience in UK manufacturing and right to work in the UK without expiry.

  • Conduct risk assessments to identify hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and deliver training on HSEQ topics, emergency procedures, and safety equipment use.

  • Ensure operations comply with environmental regulations, waste management, and sustainability practices.
  • Monitor adherence to statutory, regulatory, contractual, and standard requirements.
  • Identify improvement areas and implement initiatives to enhance HSEQ performance.

Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) Advisor/Officer - Manufacturing - up to £38k - Near Leeds/Bradford Airport

Hays PLC is partnering exclusively with a thriving SME capital equipment manufacturer, serving a global client base. Known for innovative solutions, first-class service, and high-quality machines widely used across the FMCG sector, this organization is committed to maintaining high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, and quality.

To support these standards, they are seeking a dedicated and experienced HSEQ Advisor, due to internal promotion. The successful candidate will implement and monitor HSEQ policies to ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Policy Implementation: Draft and update HSEQ policies to ensure compliance with laws and industry standards.
  2. Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct risk assessments to identify hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
  3. Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training on HSEQ topics, emergency procedures, and safety equipment use.
  4. Incident Investigation and Reporting: Lead investigations, determine causes, develop prevention measures, and maintain compliance records.
  5. Environmental Management: Ensure operations comply with environmental regulations, waste management, and sustainability practices.
  6. Compliance Monitoring: Monitor adherence to statutory, regulatory, contractual, and standard requirements.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Identify improvement areas and implement initiatives to enhance HSEQ performance.
Qualifications, Skills, and Essentials:
  • Formal training: An IOSH certificate is essential; NEBOSH or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Proven experience in an HSEQ Advisor or similar role within manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of BRC, ISO management systems, especially ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Full-time work availability.
  • Initially on-site near Leeds/Bradford Airport during onboarding, then 1 day remote.
  • Experience in UK manufacturing and right to work in the UK without expiry.
