Job summary

Cawingredients Limited is seeking a Quality Goods In Support to join our fast-moving, dynamic team. You will monitor incoming materials, perform QA checks, and manage quarantine stock, ensuring adherence to specifications and documentation.

The role involves collaboration with the goods-in team, handling trials, and maintaining accurate quality records. Excellent organisational skills, HACCP training, and proficient MS Word/Excel use are desirable.

Qualifications

  • Experience in food industry and raw material specifications/packaging checks is required.
  • Understand the role of each raw material/pack within the process.
  • Laboratory/QA experience is desirable.
  • Able to problem solve and take initiative with preventative/corrective actions.
  • Ability to monitor quarantine items and conduct non-conforming stock checks.
  • Able to work unsupervised.
  • Trained in food hygiene/HACCP.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Good communication with suppliers (internal and external).
  • Experience supporting suppliers during trials on site.
  • Able to inform new suppliers of quality documentation on arrival.
  • Experience with MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Support Goods-in to monitor the condition of goods on arrival.
  • Complete raw material checks against specification and store in correct location.
  • Check CofA/quality against specification before use in production.
  • Take reference samples and store logistically.
  • Check packaging samples and perform testing/analysis to sampling plan.
  • Monitor BBE dates and manage extensions/quarantine as needed.
  • Place materials in quarantine and ensure all documentation is completed.
  • File documentation as part of the quality system.
  • Carry out quality audits/assessments and retention sampling.
  • Provide support for Quality Goods Team Leader as required.

Job description

We are currently seeking a Quality Goods In Support to work within our fast moving, dynamic growing business. We manufacture and supply high volume soft drinks principally to the UK market.

Ideally the successful candidate will have the following skills:
  • Previously worked in the food industry and gained experience of raw material specifications / packaging checks.
  • Understand the role of each raw material / packaging within the process.
  • Laboratory / QA Experience.
  • Able to problem solve / take the initiative. Understand preventative and corrective actions.
  • Ability to work closely with the goods in team and stock controller to monitor items that are in quarantine. Ability to carry out regular non-conforming stock checks whilst also monitoring and recording of short dated stock.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Trained in food hygiene / HACCP.
  • Excellent organisation skills and ability to prioritise own workload.
  • Good communication skills (internally and with suppliers).
  • Experience of being able to support suppliers/external visitors while on site during trials.
  • Able to Inform new suppliers of requirements regarding quality documentation on arrival.
  • Experience of working with Microsoft packages, primarily Word and Excel.
Example of typical duties:
  • Support Goods-in to monitor the condition of goods on arrival.
  • Complete Raw material checks against specification and are stored in the correct location (chilled, ambient etc.)
  • Check the CofA / quality against specification prior to the goods being used in production.
  • Take reference samples and store in a logical manor.
  • Check packaging samples and carry out testing / analysis to agreed sampling plan including opening force .
  • Monitor BBE dates and request extensions / quarantine as appropriate and communicate to relevant departments.
  • Place raw materials / finished product etc. in quarantine as required. Ensure all documentation is completed.
  • Check, collate and file documentation that has been completed as part of the quality system.
  • Carry out quality audits / additional quality assessments as required.Complete bulk tasting and retention sampling.
  • Provide support for Quality Goods Team Leader when required/cover absences.

Hours of work: Monday - Friday 08:30am until 17:00pm

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Leeming Bar DL7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
  • Technical / Quality : 1 year (preferred)
