Job Description
The Role effectively coordinates the Quality and Environmental function by ensuring systems, processes, and standards are maintained, developed, implemented, and improved. The role will be based in the London office but will involve regular visits to our sites across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating a robust Quality and Environmental Management System by supporting site and office teams to ensure compliance with current Q&E policies and procedures.
- Formulating and managing the development and implementation of KPIs, policies, procedures, and systems related to Quality & Environmental standards, aligning with the company's Integrated Management System.
- Embedding the Procore platform across the company through training to become a Super User and providing ongoing training to new and existing employees.
- Undertaking regular audits of Q&E systems and procedures, including site visits, to ensure consistency across all locations.
- Interfacing with external auditors to maintain and upgrade ISO systems.
- Developing strong relationships within the company to ensure policy implementation in daily operations.
- Ensuring consistency of Quality and Environmental standards across sites and offices by upskilling employees and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Maintaining and improving ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications and exploring additional systems beneficial to the company.
- Ensuring Q&E procedures integrate with ISO 45001 Safety Management System through coordination with Safety Personnel.
- Researching and developing Quality Plans and Waste Management templates, providing staff training as needed.
- Conducting site visits and inspections related to Environmental and Quality performance, reporting findings to Senior Management.
- Monitoring the resolution of Q&E observations, non-conformance issues, and system defects.
- Providing weekly progress reports and feedback to Senior Management.
- Contributing feedback and input on processes and KPIs for PQQ and tender submissions.
- Managing document control for Environmental topics related to ongoing projects, including waste logs.
- Performing other ad hoc duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- A degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or similar.
- Good understanding of the lifecycle of large construction projects, preferably with a Main Contractor.
- Excellent IT skills with knowledge of construction engineering technology.
- Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated, and approachable.
- Organized, able to prioritize, and capable of working independently and within a team.
- Genuine interest in and understanding of quality and environmental issues.
- Proven ability to support, guide, and train staff.
- Results-oriented with a hands-on approach, detail-oriented, and strategic thinking.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and undertake additional projects.
