Purpose
The Quality & Environmental Manager is responsible for managing and continuously improving quality performance of area of responsibility in line with targets and coordinates the management of a unit’s environmental performance and identifies and resolves environmental issues from a holistic perspective.
As Quality & Environmental Manager you will drive the development, implementation and follow-up of our processes, methods, and systems to analyze our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to improve our business performance. The Q&E Manager is responsible for identifying local applicable environmental regulations, business development opportunities and risks while interacting with business lines and functions, ensuring environmental compliance and conformance to business strategies and ISO 14001 Management System.
To enable KONE to build Quality & Environment into our processes and develop a proactive Quality culture and mindset through increased competences, collaboration, communication, and best business practice sharing.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy deployment
- Promotes and deploys Quality & Environment as part of the KONE Strategy and proactive Quality culture, actively communicates the importance of Quality and engages the organization.
- Drives the annual quality budget planning and other quality related target setting in their organization in line with global targets.
Quality management
- Promotes, with Unit/function management, recognition and conformance to customer and KONE requirements.
- Collaborates with KONE Way process owners, operating model owners, and change managers to ensure the continual improvement and implementation of KONE Way in area of responsibility.
- Assures that functional and operational leaders and teams analyze, develop, and execute continuous quality improvements based on performance data and proactively gathers and analyses other relevant data to identify continuous improvement opportunities in the processes in full chain.
Environmental management
- Lead and coordinate unit’s improvement activities and development programs related to environmental, climate or sustainability matters.
- Lead, follow and ensure the progress according to the unit budget preparation.
- Collaborate with sourcing, business lines, facility management and other relevant functions to meet the unit’s long- and short-term environmental goals.
- Ensure environmental legal compliance in the unit together with local sourcing relevant to KONE solutions and operations (e.g. legal requirements coming from EU REACH, RoHS).
- Collaborate with marketing, sales and Customer Solutions Engineering to ensure relevant customer requirements in KONE solutions and operations are fulfilled and communicated in line with customers’ climate targets, green building requirements, and other environmental customer requirements.
- Demonstrates how ownership of quality & environment should be done in KONE, so that others can see this example.
Continual improvement
- Drives progress and monitors effectiveness of continuous improvement projects, corrective and preventative actions which are being logged within the organization and provides direction and support where needed.
- Facilitates and evaluates the implementation and contributes to the development of the Management System (QEHS), monitors its performance, and combines its management with other management systems, such as environment and safety.
- Is responsible for planning, execution, and follow-up of audits as tool for assuring process compliance and identifying areas for process performance and improvement.
- Represent the voice of the customer relevant to climate and environmental targets and green building requirements, use this to build motivation for continuous improvement within unit, and provide input in matrix organization on area/global levels.
- Ensures that, in area of responsibility, the management practices are in place as defined in the Continual improvement policy.
Skills:
- Experience of working in an international company.
- Good knowledge of Quality tools, methods, systems.
- Practical knowledge on safety at work.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (minimum).
- Management System processes (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001), quality tools, audit, and certification experience.
- Product/process management experience.
- Change management skills.
