Leading automotive First and Second Tier supplier is seeking a Quality Manager. You will ensure the organization achieves the required quality accreditations and standards and proactively lead the Quality Engineering team.
Location: Commutable from Coventry, Birmingham, Leicester, Northampton
Salary: Negotiable + Car Allowance + Pension
The Role:
The Quality Manager will spearhead product and process excellence within a thriving, fast-paced automotive environment. You will establish, implement, and maintain processes needed for the Quality Management System and be responsible for stopping processes and escalating issues in cases of non-conformities. You will ensure product safety requirements are fulfilled and report QMS performance to the Managing Director.
You will manage quality-related issues with customers and suppliers and serve as the Management and Customer Representative for Quality Management at the site level, including all customer-specific automotive certifications such as IATF.
Implement preventive and evaluation tools, conduct product inspections and testing, utilize FMEA, Poka Yoke, and robust problem-solving activities through 8D processes. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will have a proven engineering background, be able to interpret technical drawings, and manage quality engineering concerns in a manufacturing environment. Leadership and influence over a team of quality engineers are essential.
Experience with engineering tools such as FMEA, 8D, Root Cause analysis, and auditing to IATF 16949 as a certified Lead Auditor is required. Some travel to supplier and customer sites will be necessary. This is a site-based role working Monday to Friday with a lunchtime finish on Fridays.
