Job summary

Ingersoll Rand Transport Solutions in Margate is seeking a Quality Engineering Technician to interface with manufacturing, engineering, purchasing and suppliers. You will maintain ISO 9001, ATEX and PED quality system requirements and contribute to continuous improvement across the business.

The role emphasizes hands-on QA activities, calibration control, supplier quality, and documentation in a calm manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on approach and team contribution are essential.
  • Experience with ISO management systems and SAP is desirable.
  • Experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Able to work and contribute within a team – Essential.
  • Auditing experience is desirable.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word etc.– Essential.
  • Ability to understand/read engineering drawings – Essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – Essential.

Responsibilities

  • Use Quality Tools to analyse defects in materials and products.
  • Ensure QA measures are followed at all stages of manufacture.
  • Support measurement and validation of samples.
  • Conduct goods inward sampling inspections of vendor products to drawings/specifications.
  • Review vendor non-conforming products and raise rejections/SCARs.
  • Maintain calibration system (internal/external).
  • Generate certificates: material/test certificates, certificates of conformity.
  • Support dispatch dock audits.
  • Analyse Aftermarket/Warranty returns and raise reports.
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably required within the scope of the role.

Job Summary

This Quality Engineering Technician position will interface with internal manufacturing, engineering, purchasing & vendors.

Maintain quality system requirements for ISO 9001, ATEX, and PED.

Be actively involved with continuous improvement activities across the business.

Responsibilities
  • Using Quality Tools for the Analysis of defects in materials and products.
  • Ensure that the quality assurance measures within the company procedures are adhered to at any stage of manufacture.
  • Support measurement / validation of samples.
  • Conduct goods inward sampling Inspections of vendor products to drawing / specifications.
  • Reviewing / processing vendor non-conforming product, raising rejections / debits & SCAR reports.
  • Maintenance of the calibration system (Internal / External calibration).

Basic Qualifications
  • Apprentice, trained with minimum of 5 years working in an Engineering environment– Desirable.
  • Experience with ISO management systems and SAP– Desirable.
  • Experience of working in a quality role in a manufacturing environment Desirable.
  • Able to work and contribute within a team – Essential.
  • Auditing experience – Desirable.
  • Hands on approach – Essential.
  • Ability to understand/read engineering drawings – Essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – Essential.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word etc.– Essential.
  • Proficient in the use of small measurement equipment – Desirable.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
  • Fully site based at our Margate Kent Facility.
