Quality Engineer (Supervisor)

Permanent

Location: Liverpool, L36

Salary: A£42,000 - A£45,000

Working Hours: 08:00 - 17:00, Monday - Friday

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions is working with an established manufacturing business seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join their team. The role involves supervising 3 direct reports.

Main Responsibilities

1. Maintain and develop the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO9001 standards.
2. Participate in new product introduction activities.
3. Ensure compliance with customer specifications.
4. Manage and resolve customer, supplier, and internal non-conformances.
5. Conduct periodic process and product audits.
6. Identify opportunities for improvement and act upon them.
7. Create process documentation such as work instructions, quality alerts, PFMEAs, and control plans.
8. Support production trials.
9. Develop and report on the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
10. Oversee engineering changes driven by customers and internal teams.
11. Generate and monitor relevant KPIs.
12. Supervise and lead a team of 3 shift QC personnel.
13. Maintain a flexible approach and adapt to business needs.

Experience and Skills

• Minimum 4 years in a similar role.
• Experience in a customer-facing position.
• Proficient with quality tools like FMEA, APQP, SPC, MSA, and PPAP.
• Understanding of lean methodologies.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Knowledge of problem-solving tools.
• Commercial awareness.
• Experience with CMM/Faro arm operation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Supervisory experience.
• Experience with Polyworks and knowledge of IMDS (preferred but not essential).
