Role: Quality Engineer - Production
Location: Birmingham Airport
Role Type: 15 months - initially
Salary: Up to £33 an hour, depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Conduct quality inspections, internal audits, and line stock checks in line with the client’s quality procedures and audit plans.
- Support quality assurance processes during the flight test phase, ensuring compliance with design, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and contribute to Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Material Review Board (MRB) activities, and local safety investigations.
- Maintain and validate work instructions, tooling requirements, certifications, and process standards.
- Identify non-conformances, recommend corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in quality reviews for proposals, contracts, and customer requirements to ensure early quality involvement.
- Analyse process data, customer feedback, and audit findings to formulate preventive and corrective action plans.
- Represent Quality at design reviews and facilitate a strong Just Culture within the client’s Maintenance and Production organisation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in aviation quality assurance, root cause analysis, and corrective action management.
- Proven experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and production environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with high attention to detail.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Working knowledge of MAA, CAA, and EASA regulations (Part 145, Part M, Part 21).
- Experience in flight testing, operational maintenance, or production environments.
- Familiarity with OEM aerospace processes and procedures and experience with data analytics tools.
- A customer-focused, dependable, and adaptable professional with strong teamwork and decision-making abilities.
