Daniel Owen is currently recruiting on behalf of a global leader in the design & manufacture of plant and specialized LG vehicles. This forward-thinking company has an international footprint and offers strong development opportunities for staff, fostering a culture of excellence and innovative design.

Due to growth in their UK hub in Tonbridge, Kent, they are seeking a Quality Engineer.

Job Description:

The Quality Engineer (QE) assesses the quality assurance of processes and products, recommending revisions to specifications. Responsibilities include testing products, systems, and procedures to ensure compliance with technical standards, creating quality and safety documentation, liaising between engineering, production, and customers to address quality issues, and reporting KPIs.

The QE promotes a quality-centric culture and leads by example. Familiarity with core quality tools such as control plan creation, SPC, FMEA, MSA, PPAP, APQP, and 8D problem solving is essential.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement quality standards and control systems.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance, including warranty claims.
  • Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products to meet quality specifications.
  • Collaborate with operations managers to develop controls and improvements.
  • Ensure workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot product or process issues.
  • Develop corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.

The QE will liaise with production, sales, purchasing, and engineering teams, develop quality processes, write work instructions and control plans, analyze defects, identify trends, and lead quality improvement meetings using PDCA. They should be familiar with ISO 9001/IATF 16949, qualified as a lead auditor, and knowledgeable in lean principles and Six Sigma Green Belt certification. The QE will create and conduct internal and external audits, including supplier visits, and assist suppliers in improving quality performance using PDCA methodologies.
