Position Summary

The purpose of the role will be to support the Senior Quality Manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the Operations Quality function. This will involve ensuring the highest quality products are being shipped to our customers. It will also mean ensuring that the products we use are compliant with the latest local legislation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Control, maintain and monitor quality standards within operations.
  • Ensure that new products are introduced efficiently into operations from the supply chain and contract manufacturers.
  • Manage the approval of FAIRs and create bespoke approvals for product or piece part approvals where necessary.
  • Ensure that all relevant documentation is available for RoHS, UKCA, CE compliance, etc.
  • Manage the MS Form and team’s workplace for centralized fault reporting and tracking through to resolution.
  • Raise concerns / care points and reports internally and externally.
  • Lead meetings in the absence of the quality manager, especially RFW BAU and product meetings.
  • Develop and manage a new handover process to operations.
  • Conduct spot checks on current builds for supplier and in-house issues, manage the inspection process, sampling, and data analysis.
  • Assist the quality manager in maintaining WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) certification.
  • Manage and develop SOPs, engaging with third parties for a comprehensive approach.
  • Manage the testing environment and product compliance using in-house lab equipment.
  • Ensure lab equipment is fit for purpose and calibrated.
  • Consult with supply chain contacts and control firmware changes during product management approval.
  • Communicate with authorities like the Bank of England, Bank of Scotland, and Royal Mints.
  • Assist in diagnosing issues related to money handling with the quality engineer.
  • Collect and analyze quality data for vendor rating and feedback.
  • Manage rejection processes and follow-up corrective actions.
  • Participate in business process improvements and value engineering.
  • Maintain ISO 9001:2015 QMS.
  • Enroll with LRQA or similar for internal auditing training.
  • Assist with audit programs, schedules, and inductions.
  • Help administer the Q-Pulse document management system.
  • Willingness to travel for internal and external audits.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with MS Office and Quality software.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and lead projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach.
