Who we are

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions is a leading global supplier of polymer-based critical sealing solutions and components for general industry, automotive, and aerospace. We are one of three Business Areas within the Trelleborg Group and have about 6,000 employees worldwide.

As the Quality Engineer, you will uphold our company's safety laws and inspect the production process to ensure all products meet quality standards.

The selected candidate will conduct regular evaluations and document inspection results. To excel in this role, applicants must demonstrate outstanding attention to detail and the ability to follow clear and precise instructions.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Align with, update, and create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Possess a good understanding of technical drawings.
  • Conduct visual inspections of parts.
  • Use a wide variety of measuring equipment within the quality department, including handheld tools and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Prepare specific reports for customers, such as goods inwards forms, material reports, dimensional reports, FAIRs, and PPAPs.
  • Complete first-off inspections both visually and dimensionally.
  • Use Forthshift (Trelleborg’s ERP system).
  • Provide training to personnel to promote high-quality standards.
  • Lead quality claim investigations for internal and external claims, using various problem-solving methodologies.
  • Create, update, and implement PFMEAs, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams.
  • Lead the site calibration system for equipment through internal procedures and external sources.
  • Effectively handle MSA, SPC, and PPAP activities.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Possesses engineering knowledge and qualifications, including the ability to read specifications, drawings, and reports.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the product and production systems to diagnose problems effectively.
  • Skilled in problem-solving and root cause analysis. Proficient in systematic problem-solving techniques.
  • Strong analytical and systematic thinking abilities.
  • Excellent social skills, both verbal and written.
  • Effective communicator capable of inspiring and leading teams.
  • High level of visual awareness and attention to detail.
  • Strong focus on innovation and creativity in problem-solving.
  • Thorough and diligent, especially when analysing data.

This position is based on-site at Bridgwater. Trelleborg must ensure that anyone we’re looking to employ is legally allowed to work in the UK before their employment begins.
