Quality Engineer
Overview
JETMS Completions is an Aircraft Interiors company based at Biggin Hill Kent, London. Its main objective is to supply Design, Certification, Manufacture, and Installation of commercial and VVIP aircraft interiors to the aviation industry.
JETMS is part of Avia Solutions Group, the largest ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) provider globally, managing approximately 221 aircraft. In addition to ACMI services, ASG offers a wide range of aviation solutions, including MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul), pilot and crew training, ground handling, and more.
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our established EASA / CAA Part 145 and CAA Part 21, sub-part G organization. The Quality Engineer will be based at Biggin Hill Airport and ideally hold a certifying staff position (Form SRG 1769). The successful candidate must be flexible, dedicated to our company’s progress, and capable of working within budgets and constraints applicable to a growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure conformity of outbound products and release on CAA/EASA Form One.
- Develop and maintain the Company Quality System policies and procedures.
- Maintain and update the Company MOE, POE, and QMS.
- Conduct and oversee the company Quality Audit program.
- Host customer inspections.
- Implement and continuously improve the Quality and Safety System.
- Maintain the independence of the quality departments, ensuring compliance with EASA regulations.
- Keep current knowledge of EASA Part 145, Part 21 Subpart G, and SMS risk-based management.
- Perform risk assessments, including health and safety.
- Negotiate with CAA, EASA, and other airworthiness authorities on behalf of the company.
- Conduct investigations, ensure compliance, and prepare reports on quality, technical, and maintenance issues as required.
- Audit and monitor service providers/suppliers to ensure standards are met.
- Lead RCCA activities using 8D methodologies for internal non-conformances, IORs, and MORs.
- Act as the onsite focal point for all quality and health and safety communication.
- Create quality plans, review inspection requirements, and ensure compliance.
- Maintain calibration and tooling control.
- Monitor and update KPIs and SPIs.
- Perform other duties as reasonably directed by the Accountable Manager or Quality Manager.
Knowledge & Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of quality experience in aircraft interiors or a similar role.
- CQI certificate or diploma in Quality Assurance.
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience in aircraft component repair and manufacturing workshops.
- Experience in management and quality control/assurance activities within aircraft maintenance and repair organizations.
- Successful completion of a Quality Auditing Course (e.g., EN/AS 9100 Auditor/Lead Auditor).
- Thorough knowledge of international and national civil aviation legislation, including EASA and CAA regulations.
- Ability to prioritize and handle pressure.
- Conformance to EASA / CAA Part 145, EASA 21 Subpart G.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Office packages.
- Ideally from an interior component manufacturing background.
