Job description

Quality Engineer/Inspector

Location: Woking

Salary: 35-40K

We are urgently seeking a Quality Engineer/Inspector to work for a leading manufacturing organization based in Woking. The ideal candidate will be a well-organized individual capable of working independently as a sole quality professional.

The candidate should have experience in final inspection, fault finding, and resolution. Responsibilities include performing visual and dimensional inspections of component parts, sub-assemblies, and finished products.

A key aspect of this role is knowledge and experience in inspecting sub-assemblies and final products, understanding the dimensions and specifications of finished goods. The successful applicant will have a positive attitude and a background in engineering or manufacturing environments.

Key Tasks:

  • Conduct independent visual and dimensional inspections of components, sub-assemblies, and finished products.
  • Possess knowledge of welding quality standards and what constitutes good welds.
  • Experience with machined components.
  • Perform "walk rounds" to identify and resolve quality issues within manufacturing processes.
  • Use gauges and measurement equipment accurately.
  • Conduct sample inspections.
  • Experience with NCRs and FAIRS documentation.
  • Document inspection and testing results accurately and maintain records.
  • Communicate findings effectively with other departments to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Conduct supplier visits and meetings to follow up on quality and non-conformance issues.
  • Develop and establish best practices and new inspection techniques as required.
  • Ensure adherence to company quality procedures, reviewing them in collaboration with the Quality Manager or representative.
