Job summary

Quality Engineer (Governance and Improvement) within the HPC project at Hinkley Point C; part of the Dalkia team delivering governance and quality improvements.

You will support and deliver Nuclear Safety Culture training, manage QMS communications, and produce audit reports with clear improvement actions, while collaborating with stakeholders to meet performance indicators and risk controls.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications in a relevant discipline; HND or degree or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of UK and international standards for the UK Nuclear sector.
  • CCNSG or CSCS qualification; ability to obtain UK security clearance (BPSS+).
  • Internal Auditor or Assessor qualification to ISO9001:2015 standard.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the Quality Management System (QMS) of the project per policy and requirements.
  • Support Nuclear Safety Culture training for Dalkia personnel and embedment activity.
  • Represent Dalkia in HPC Nuclear Safety Culture Community of Practice.
  • Ensure QMS communication, training and implementation within the project team.
  • Audit planning, reporting outcomes and tracking actions to closure.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and facilitate lessons learned.

Hinkley Point C is the UK’s first new build nuclear power station in a generation that is critical to the UK NetZero targets.

All candidates are expected to demonstrate their knowledge and experience where possible directly related to the criteria required for the role. It is acknowledged that previous Nuclear based experience will not always be possible, as such supporting with project research and how individual skills may be transferable will be important.

There are opportunities to put together strategic people plans within the nuclear sector, work on wider company people projects, deliver an excellent first class service to employees and ensure the administration and processes that engulf working life are implemented effectively and fairly.

Accountabilities:
  • Assist in managing the Quality Management System (QMS) of the project according to the project policy, contract requirements and Dalkia PDS
  • Support and deliver Nuclear Safety Culture training for Dalkia Personnel
  • Support Embedment of Nuclear Safety Culture
  • Represent Dalkia in HPC Nuclear Safety Culture Community of Best Practice
  • Ensure the communication, training and implementation of the QMS within the project team.
  • Monitor and measure the efficiency of the QMS and ensure improvement of the QMS throughout the project life
  • Produce a comprehensive audit report on findings from each audit highlighting trends and recommending improvements
  • Follow up on outstanding audit actions for implementation and closure
  • Report outcome of Audit to Team Managers, and Senior Managers
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities and solutions in collaborative way
  • Facilitate lessons learned and improvement activities including delivery of specific quality related training
  • Assisting and supporting the Quality Team to achieve individual and team objectives and defined performance indicators
  • Management of stakeholders and their expectations through regular communications.
Minimum Qualifications/ Experience
  • Qualifications in relevant discipline, HND/Degree (or equivalent experience for role).
  • Knowledge of working to UK and international standards and codes of practice for the UK Nuclear sector.
  • CCNSG or CSCS
  • Can achieve security clearance (BPSS or higher).
  • Internal Auditor or Assessor Qualification (ISO9001:2015 standard)
Additional Qualifications/ Experience:
  • Proven track record in large scale projects in the nuclear or similar regulated sector, including major EPC projects.
