Job description

Job Title: Quality Engineer (16-month FTC)

Location: Glascoed, South Wales

Salary: £42,132

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensuring operational compliance to specifications & quality standards e.g. ISO 9001
  • Driving and supporting targeted Continuous Improvement activities
  • Supporting resolution of quality issues, the internal audit process, and external audits
  • Reviewing Shop Floor Records, technical specifications and drawings, inspecting 'First Off' items for Quality Department approval and approving Certificates of Conformity
  • Monitoring and analysing reject data, presenting information to management
  • Energising others to engage in improvement activities, and supporting others in identifying and implementing their own improvements
  • Continually improving operating procedures and the QMS (Quality Management System)

Your skills and experiences:

  • Qualification in an engineering discipline or time served in an engineering discipline - Engineering, Maths or Science degree or equivalent
  • Proven experience within quality management in a manufacturing environment preferably of a similarly highly controlled nature (aerospace, automotive, nuclear, medical devices, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively co-ordinate data collection whenever necessary to inform business decision
  • Demonstrable experience in Continuous Improvement
  • Excellent numeracy and mechanical systems comprehension
