Job summary

A leading aerospace company in the UK is seeking a Quality Engineer to manage the creation and submission of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs). The role requires strong knowledge of AS/EN 9102 and experience in aerospace quality assurance. Candidates should possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a temporary contract of 3 - 6 months available.

Job description

We are looking for a detailed-oriented and organised Quality Engineering specifically for FAIR to manage the creation, review, and submission of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in compliance with our standards. The ideal candidate will support quality assurance efforts across product development and manufacturing to ensure conformance to customer and industry requirements. This will be on a temporary contract of 3 - 6 months.

About Us

Brookhouse Aerospace produces a range of composite structures, producing monolithic and sandwich parts from a range of materials, including carbon fibre composite, glass and Aramid cured by autoclave. Brookhouse Aerospace also manufactures sheet metal fabrications and machined metal parts, fully supply kits and integrated assemblies. Specialist capabilities include a full range of surface treatments and dedicated Spares and Repairs capability.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Awareness of AS/EN 9102 Standard
  • Prepare, review and submit FAIRs for aerospace components in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with production, engineering, and supply chain to gather documentation for FAIRs.
  • Ensure proper documentation of part revisions, drawing specifications, and traceability. Maintain organised records and logs of all FAIR activity for audit readiness.
  • Support the Organisation in resolving issues that arise from FAIR compilation
What we are looking for:
  • Experience of working with FAIRS previously
  • Strong working knowledge of First Article Inspection Report requirements
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards including AS/EN 9102 and customer-specific quality clauses.

  • An excellent can-do attitude
  • Ability to organise own workload.
  • A related qualification in quality (Desirable)
  • 2+ years of experience in aerospace quality assurance or related manufacturing quality roles. (Desirable)
