Job summary

Quality Engineer (Automotive) in Burnley, Lancashire is a hands-on role focusing on driving quality improvements across production and key customer accounts. You will use core quality tools to investigate non-conformances and support continuous improvement in a modern manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates will have ISO9001 and IATF 16949 experience, plus hands-on use of SPC, MSA, PPAP, PFMEA, and control plans.

Qualifications

  • Experience with ISO9001 and IATF 16949 quality systems.
  • Experience using quality core tools (SPC, MSA, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, 8D).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the quality lead for designated customer accounts and support manufacturing operations.
  • Carry out internal process and system audits.
  • Support 8D investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Utilise SPC, MSA and process capability studies to drive improvement.
  • Identify opportunities, investigate non-conformances and ensure standards compliance.

In this role, you will act as the quality lead for designated customer accounts whilst supporting manufacturing operations through process audits, statistical analysis and problem-solving activities. Working closely with production, engineering and management teams, you will utilise quality core tools to identify improvement opportunities, investigate non-conformances and ensure compliance with customer and industry standards.

The Person:
  • Quality Engineer with previous manufacturing or engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge of ISO9001 and IATF 16949 quality management systems
  • Experience with quality core tools such as SPC, MSA, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, 8D and capability studies
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Lives locally or willing to commute to Burnley
