Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer on long term contract to join the NPI team at a leading engineering facility in Wolverhampton. This is an opportunity to contribute to a high-impact project focused on precision measurement, data analysis, and continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and measure components using CMM machines with Calypso Zeiss software.
  • Interpret measurement data to identify trends, deviations, and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Perform bottleneck reviews to optimise production flow.
  • Lead PPAP analysis.
  • Support root cause analysis and implement robust solutions.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans and control procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.
  • Participate in internal audits and support external audit readiness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the NPI process.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in CMM operation and Calypso software.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, standards, and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Experience with data analysis, problem-solving tools, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree or HND in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline.
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering sectors.
  • Familiarity with NPI processes and cross-functional project teams.
