Job summary

THAMES 360 in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, seeks an experienced Quality Engineer to maintain and develop our Quality Management Systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer standards. You will work closely with the Quality Manager to drive continuous improvement and support our ambition to become a centre of excellence in electroplating for aerospace and defence sectors.

The role requires at least five years in quality management, Lead Auditor or equivalent auditing experience, and

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ quality management experience at senior level.
• Lead Auditor qualification or significant auditing experience.
• Quality Assurance management qualification (IQA A12) or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong business acumen and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Quality Manager in ensuring regulatory compliance across Legal, Financial, Export, H&S, Employment, and Environmental areas.
• Manage the Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) and related approvals (Nadcap and AS9100).
• Oversee configuration management to meet military and commercial specifications and customer requirements.
• Develop and maintain training and people development systems.
• Support development of technical capability within the business.
• Manage quality processes including training, calibration, non-conformances and continuous improvement.
• Authorise and sign Certificates of Conformance.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our clients team and play a key role in maintaining and developing our Quality Management Systems. Working closely with the Quality Manager, you will ensure full compliance with regulatory, customer and industry standards while helping drive continuous improvement across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional with strong aerospace/defence sector experience to help develop our technical capability and support our ambition to become a centre of excellence in electroplating.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Quality Manager in ensuring the business complies with all regulatory requirements (Legal, Financial, Export, Health & Safety, Employment, Environmental)
• Manage the company Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS) and related approvals (including Nadcap and AS9100)
• Oversee the configuration management system to ensure conformance to military and commercial specifications and customer requirements
• Develop and maintain training and people development systems
• Support the development of technical capability within the business
• Manage quality processes including training & development, calibration, non-conformances and continuous improvement
