Job description

Position: Quality Engineer - Supporting All Sites

Summary:

  • Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm
  • Office based with local travel between sites as required
  • 33 days holiday per year

Ifor Williams Trailers is a family owned independent business, established for more than 60 years, operating across 5 sites in North Wales. We are the UK’s leading manufacturer of trailers under 3.5 Tonne.

More Details:

Working closely with all other business functions, you will be responsible for ensuring preventative quality measures are implemented, conducting audits, leading investigations into complex quality issues, and supporting other functions in resolving their quality issues.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Complete preventative quality measures.
  • Plan quality activities for successful new product introduction.
  • Provide expert support to permanently resolve any reactive quality issues and drive through to permanent resolution.
  • Conduct quality audits both internally and externally, ensuring that resulting action plans are completed to satisfactorily resolve all identified non-conformities.
  • Maintain effective KPIs to accurately measure quality and drive improvement.
  • Provide expert coaching and guidance on quality topics to other business functions.
  • Significant experience of quality engineering within the manufacturing sector.
  • Ability to enthuse others within the organisation about the importance and benefits of quality.
  • Ability to effectively influence and work collaboratively with others in the organisation.
  • Ability to clearly plan and prioritise activities.
  • Able to demonstrate a strong analytic approach and ability to effectively sort and utilise data.
  • Able to demonstrate a detailed understanding of quality tools and processes.
  • Good understanding of ISO9001 or similar quality management systems.
  • Experience of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • A recognised quality qualification and a degree in a technical subject would be an advantage.
