Qualifications

The basics

Job Title: Quality Engineer - Aerospace department

Location: Consett

Hours: Mon - Thu: 8:00 - 17:00 and Fri : 8:00 - 13:00

Contracted hours per week: 39 per week

Salary: Up to 45,000 DOE

Holidays: 33 days

Benefits: Death in service x2 of salary, pension, free onsite parking.

Overview:

Working in first class manufacturing facilities we now require a Quality Engineer to join the business to ensure quality procedures for the business are maintained to the highest standards.

Duties/responsibilities:

  • Support the Quality Manager in achieving & maintaining certification to all applicable standards
  • Support other members of the Quality team through mentoring and coaching
  • Deputise as required for Quality Manager for all Quality related activities
  • Utilising applicable Quality Tools, ensure that non-conformance is detected, contained, investigated and robust actions to prevent re-occurrence implemented.
  • Conduct Quality product and system audits

The ideal candidate / Quality Engineer may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:

Manufacturing and Quality experience in a fabrication, machining or special process background.

Knowledge of common inspection equipment used in fabrication and machining.

Knowledge of quality managements systems (ISO9001/AS9100)

Knowledge of problem analysis methodologies (i.e. 8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why)

Knowledge of quality management tools and methodologies (i.e. APQP, FMEA, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Control Plans, Risk Management, Quality Control, Quality Assurance)

Previous Internal auditing experience

Good project management skills

Good Commercial awareness

Strong interpersonal skills / influencing

Excellent IT Skills and able to analyse data through Excel

Location: Consett, Durham, Newcastle upon Tyne and Surrounding Areas.
