Job summary

HUBER+SUHNER Polatis seeks a Quality Engineer to lead root cause investigations, drive corrective actions and champion a quality-first culture across Eng, Manufacturing and Operations. You will analyse data, support ISO9001 compliance, and help embed quality into decisions and processes.

The role requires quality engineering experience in tech/manufacturing, strong problem-solving, and solid knowledge of quality tools and systems. Join a collaborative, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree/qualification in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or related field.
  • Experience as Quality Engineer in manufacturing/tech environment.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO9001.
  • Experience leading root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of 8D, RCA, RCCA, FMEA and CI techniques.
  • Ability to interpret engineering proposals.
  • Data analysis to support decisions and improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail.
  • Health and Safety awareness; able to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of ISO27001; RoHS/REACH/SCIP.

Responsibilities

  • Lead root cause investigations and drive corrective and preventive actions using recognised quality methodologies.
  • Analyse quality data and performance trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Champion a quality-first culture by promoting best practice, problem solving and continuous improvement across the business.
  • Support the organisation's transformation journey by embedding quality principles into everyday decision making and operational processes.
  • Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing to improve product quality, process capability and reliability.
  • Support the introduction and validation of new products, software releases and manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in risk assessment and mitigation activities to improve operational performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Support ongoing development and effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001 and other regulatory requirements.
  • Plan and support internal audit activities and drive actions arising from audit findings.
  • Support change management activities to ensure effective implementation and ongoing compliance.
  • Manage and investigate internal, supplier and customer quality concerns.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and verify sustainable improvements.
  • Develop and report quality KPIs and present recommendations to management.
  • Build cross-functional relationships and provide quality guidance across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Operations.
  • Act as a visible advocate for quality excellence throughout the organisation.

Product & Process Quality

Stakeholder & Business Support

Your profile
  • Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience in a Quality Engineer role within a manufacturing, engineering or technology-based environment
  • Sound knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO9001 requirements
  • Experience leading root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions
  • Working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as 8D, RCA, RCCA, FMEA and continuous improvement techniques
  • Ability to interpret engineering proposals
  • Experience analysing and interpreting data to support decision-making and improvement activities
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Solid awareness of Health and Safety practices
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience of ISO27001 requirements
  • Knowledge of RoHS, REACH and SCIP regulations
  • Experience within electronics, telecommunications, optical technologies or other high-technology manufacturing environments
  • Experience using statistical analysis tools such as Minitab or JMP
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process controls and validation activities
