Job description

Our client is an award-winning plastics manufacturing company that specialises in manufacturing products used in a range of industries including medical.

The role:
As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the company’s quality systems and ensuring that any corrective actions are implemented without delay. The Quality Engineer will support technical, manufacturing, and purchasing with all of their quality requirements. You will set up and support all production data, quality documentation, calibration, and drawing control for manufactured and purchased parts.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support technical and manufacturing with all quality activities.
  2. Ensure that internal audit plans are maintained and corrective actions implemented when required.
  3. Work abroad.
  4. Be involved in the development of mutually beneficial relationships with our principal customers.
  5. Audit production and packaging processes to ensure compliance with product specifications.
  6. Provide assistance to the Quality Manager for projects related to research and development, production technology, and quality control.
  7. Record and compile audit and test results, and prepare graphs, charts, and reports.
  8. Maintain SOPs for all active products, and work collaboratively with members of the production department to verify SOPs.
  9. Load and maintain the production databases with manufacturing-related data, under the supervision of the Quality Manager.
  10. Participate in any company or group objectives or initiatives.
  11. Facilitate improvement and corrective action meetings.
  12. Ensure customer complaints are dealt with in line with company procedures.
  13. Support the Quality Manager with new project introduction.
  14. Perform validation activities in accordance with PPAP and IQ-OQ-PQ.
  15. Programme and operate the CMM, Vision Inspection Equipment, and Force Test Equipment.

The candidate:

  1. Must be from a quality-related background – manufacturing (cleanroom manufacturing & injection moulding preferred).
  2. Must have knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 (ISO13485:2015 preferred).
  3. Must have knowledge of PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and 8D (IQ, OQ, PQ preferred).
  4. Good knowledge and use of computer software, i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, ERP Systems, and Minitab.
  5. Full valid driving licence as travel within the UK will be required.

The package:
Offering up to £38,000 pa plus 25 days holiday and other benefits.
