Zenith People is working with our client, who has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis.

Main Purpose of the Role

To support our client with new project activities involving suppliers within the manufacturing quality sector.

Responsibilities:

  1. Be involved in sourcing and assessing suppliers to supply necessary materials.
  2. Visit suppliers’ facilities to observe manufacturing environments and assess their procedures.
  3. Perform regular quality control audits to ensure compliance with company and industry standards and relevant regulations.
  4. Conduct inspections and tests of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to identify defects or deviations from quality standards.
  5. Maintain detailed reports on supplier quality, including defect rates, and implement improvement plans when required.
  6. Provide technical advice and guidance to suppliers to reduce defect rates.
  7. Develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and policies to meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
  8. Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  9. Analyze quality data, perform statistical analysis, and generate reports to track trends and identify areas for improvement.
  10. Participate in the design and development of new products or processes, providing input on quality requirements and validation plans.
  11. Conduct risk assessments and participate in FMEA to identify potential quality risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  12. Lead or contribute to root cause analysis investigations and develop CAPAs.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Degree or HND in an appropriate technical subject.
  • Previous experience in a quality engineering role, preferably in manufacturing or engineering environments.
  • Strong knowledge of quality principles, methodologies, and tools such as SPC, Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Experience with New Product Introduction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
