The Quality Engineer is responsible for identifying and implementing processes that improve safety, quality, and operating efficiency in a manner that supports the objectives of the business.
Responsibilities:
Produce moderately complex solutions for assigned tasks and projects.
Develop expertise in quality engineering skills, such as process creation, ITP creation, auditing, and continuous improvement.
Provide Quality Assurance support to internal customers, including Project Management, Engineering, Assembly, and Purchasing.
Provide project Quality Assurance support to external customers.
Take responsibility for the completion of assigned tasks, involving the cooperative efforts of others.
Facilitate customer witness of testing and inspection activities.
Conduct quality audits (internal, supplier) and continuous improvement projects.
Interact with others using basic courtesy and a straightforward exchange of information. Clear and comprehensive communication skills are important.
Develop knowledge of internal products and processes, including Quality Assurance related inputs and outputs.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (engineering, industrial, process or similar discipline).
A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
Working knowledge of quality engineering principles.
Solid working knowledge of ISO 9001.
Knowledge of operational processes in the defined area of work and familiarity with industry practice and standards.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, inspection methods and procedures, inspection equipment, and quality engineering including analytical skills.
Working towards and gaining work experience of Quality Certification such as American Society of Quality (ASQ) CQE, CQA, CQT, or CRE.
Hazardous location knowledge (ATEX, IECEx, NEC, CEC) is an advantage but not required.
