Job summary

OSI Electronics UK is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance professional to strengthen the site quality function and drive continuous improvement across ISO systems. You will oversee QA activities from design reviews to on-site inspections, act as first point of contact for quality issues, and coordinate corrective actions, audits and supplier quality.

Candidates should have 5+ years in electronics manufacturing and knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans and PPAP, with aerospace/medical/auto

Qualifications

  • Educated to HNC level or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an electronics manufacturing organisation.
  • Good understanding of process design and development (PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP).
  • Experience within Aerospace, Medical or Automotive industries is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • The first point of contact to the shop floor for product quality issues of mechanical fit, process quality and electronic component specification.
  • Undertake investigations and ensure rapid containment activities with long term corrective action.
  • Compile regular reports to/for the Quality Manager and relevant staff.
  • Proactively analyse production data and develop key quality metrics, review and action improvement actions.
  • Provide technical support with engineering to production staff to ensure quality standards.
  • Communicate quality information to internal/external customers to ensure compliance.
  • Complete FAIRs to specified customer requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure all purchased goods meet quality standards.
  • Carry out internal and external audits and uphold company values.

Role Overall

To provide an effective and robust quality function to the site leading to continuous improvements in quality and other standards together with the associated ISO systems.

Develops, implements and maintains technical quality assurance and control systems and activities. Defines and specifies the implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, accuracy and reliability of company products.

Participates in the reviewing of engineering designs to contribute quality requirements and considerations. Assists product support areas in gathering and analysing data.

  • Proactively analyse production data. To develop and report key quality metrics, review and action processes that facilitate the continual improvement of those metrics and propose corrective actions in reports to the Quality Manager.
  • Provide technical support with engineering to production staff in order for them to be able to produce products to the correct quality standards.
  • Communicate and co-ordinate quality information to all internal/external customers in order to ensure compliance.
  • Complete FAIRs to specified customer requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure all purchased goods are to the required quality standard.
  • Process customer, supplier and internal quality /concerns using 8D corrective action report.
  • Carry out internal and external audits.

Candidate Requirements
  • Educated to HNC level or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an electronics manufacturing organisation.
  • Good understanding of process design and development (eg PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, etc).
  • Experience within the Aerospace, Medical or Automotive industries -Desired
