AEM Limited is seeking a proactive Quality Engineer to join our Ramsgate facility. You will support regulatory compliance, manage quality systems, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within a heavily regulated aerospace environment.

The role involves hosting audits, maintaining calibration and authorisation systems, and leading root-cause analyses to prevent recurrence. You will collaborate across cross-functional teams and apply AI tools to improve productivity and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience in regulated quality environments, preferably aerospace or engineering.
  • Knowledge of AS9100/AS9110 quality management systems.
  • Internal auditing experience and auditor training.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Understanding of non-conformance management processes.
  • Human Factors awareness.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Support maintenance of company approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and company quality requirements.
  • Support and host customer, regulatory and third-party audits.
  • Conduct internal and supplier audits per the audit schedule.
  • Maintain calibration system for regulatory compliance.
  • Manage authorisation control system including stamps and approvals.
  • Support EN4179 requirements, ensuring NDT authorisations and documentation.

Job description

AEM Limited is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our Ramsgate facility. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting quality management systems, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring adherence to aerospace industry standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional with experience in a regulated engineering or aerospace environment who enjoys problem solving, auditing, and improving processes.

Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management & Compliance
  • Support the maintenance of company approvals
  • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and company quality requirements.
  • Support and host customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
  • Conduct internal and supplier audits in line with the audit schedule.
  • Maintain the calibration system to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and maintain the authorisation control system, including personnel stamps and approvals.
  • Support compliance with EN4179 requirements, ensuring NDT authorisations and documentation remain current.
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
  • Manage the non-conformance reporting process and lead investigations into quality issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Lead product and system failure investigations using recognised problem-solving methodologies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, compliance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop, review, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, forms, and related documentation.
Skills & Experience:
Essential
  • Experience working within a regulated quality environment, preferably aerospace, aviation, MRO, manufacturing, or engineering.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and/or AS9110 quality management systems.
  • Internal auditing experience and auditor training.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Understanding of non-conformance management processes.
  • Human Factors awareness.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-marking, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
