Overview
We are looking for an experienced quality engineer ideally with a background of precision engineering/manufacturing ideally from aerospace or subcontract machining environments. You will have the ability to interpret complex mechanical engineering drawings and determine appropriate measuring techniques with the ability to produce credible inspection and associated reports.
Responsibilities
- Liaising with Customers and Suppliers on quality related issues
- Manufacturing liaison and reporting shortfalls to Manufacturing supervision
- Training Operators in all aspects of inspection techniques and equipment
- Preparation of inspection equipment work instruction
- Assisting in effective management of the measurement and test equipment
- Translation of Customer quality requirements into detailed Manufacturing instructions
- Compiling routine final inspection trend analysis and reports
- Managing Non-Conformances and Customer Complaints through 8Ds/5Whys
- Supplier audits including reporting and recommendations
- Customer & Supplier liaison on specific quality issues
- Creation of Quality Control Plans/LTQRS on specific customer projects
Qualifications
- A minimum of FIVE years recent experience as a Quality Engineer or equivalent related function
- Ability to interpret complex mechanical engineering drawings and determine appropriate measuring techniques
- Ability to produce credible inspection and associated reports
- Experience with Project Management and liaising regularly with both customers and suppliers
- Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship
- Good knowledge of programming CMMs, supported by a certificate of competence in CMM programming issued by the CMM manufacturer or agent
- PC-DMIS programming ability
- PC-DMIS Level 2
