The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of products, assisting with managing supplier quality, overseeing manufacturing operations, and handling feature requests. This role involves managing issues through ticket management systems using the 8D problem-solving methodology.

As our Quality Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by:

  • Overseeing global triage and escalation of issues, collaborating with stakeholders for failure analysis, root cause identification, corrective actions, and validation.
  • Representing the voice of the customer by addressing unresolved issues related to manufacturing, supplier, product quality, and feature requests.
  • Supporting new product development with compliance to design controls and policies.
  • Assisting in quarterly business reviews to report supplier performance and ensure corrective actions.
  • Conducting supplier quality audits for the secure issuance business unit.
  • Performing in-process inspections and communicating discrepancies for root cause analysis.
  • Using quality assurance tools to test, analyze, and report on materials, processes, and products.
  • Developing documentation for continuous process improvement.
  • Generating reports on quality issues and recommending improvements.
  • Supporting quality planning, including QMS and audits.
  • Managing corrective and preventive actions for quality issues.
  • Monitoring KPIs such as COPQ, RMA, MRB, Delivered Quality, and CAPA.
  • Participating in quality training and continuous improvement programs.
  • Promoting techniques like Lean, Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke, MSA, and PFMEA.
  • Leading ISO 9001 audits as needed.
  • Ensuring processes are compliant with ISO procedures.

Your Experience and Background include:

  • Associate/Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of direct Quality Engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of Quality Engineering tools and methodologies (FMEA, 8D, Fishbone, control plans, SPC, Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke, 5 Whys, DMAIC, PDCA, MSA).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015.
  • Basic knowledge of electronics design and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Effective at working independently and within teams.
  • Good project management skills.

The base salary in the United States is $60,000 to $70,000.
