Qualifications

• Erfahrung in Qualitätssicherung und Kenntnis von AS 9100 & NADCAP Standards.
• Starke analytische und problemlösende Fähigkeiten.

Responsibilities

Job description

Job Opportunity: Quality Engineer

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to join an established engineering company in Newport.

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, and 7:30 am to 12:30 pm on Friday.

Company Overview: This position offers the chance to work with a leading engineering business operating across industries such as aerospace, defence, automotive, and transportation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure the site Quality and Inspection functions meet business requirements.
2. Maintain process documentation in compliance with internal and external quality standards, including NADCAP and AS9100.
3. Disseminate understanding of quality systems throughout all levels on site.
4. Conduct effective contract reviews and assist with PAQP/FAIR processes.
5. Manage customer liaison, notify customers of issues or non-conformances, and ensure timely resolution of complaints.
6. Monitor vendor ratings and resolve supplier issues.
7. Oversee KPI data, collaborate with site management to address problems, and ensure site objectives are met or corrective actions are implemented.
8. Review root causes and the effectiveness of corrective actions.
9. Support laboratory and inspection areas.
10. Participate in and initiate continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications & Experience

• Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Experience with testing best practices, version control, and defect management.
• CMM knowledge/experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Self-supervising within the guidance of divisional management.
• Knowledge of quality systems and measurement techniques.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Knowledge of AS 9100 & NADCAP standards.
• Effective data presentation skills.
