Job summary

Venesky Brown is recruiting a Quality Engineer for Sizewell C in Leiston, Suffolk. You will help ensure quality requirements are met across the project lifecycle, from design and procurement through to construction, commissioning and close-out, working with project teams, contractors and suppliers.

The role requires a strong background in QA/QC within safety-critical industries, knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 19443, supplier audits, and the ability to drive continuous improvement while reporting

Qualifications

• Experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control within nuclear, engineering, construction or another safety‑critical industry.
• Strong understanding of quality management across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning.
• Knowledge of quality management systems and standards, including ISO 9001 and ISO 19443.
• Experience working with suppliers and conducting supplier audits.
• IRCA-certified auditor or relevant professional accreditation.
• Membership of, or progress towards membership of, the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI).
• Experience working with regulators such as the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR).
• Nuclear new-build experience and knowledge of nuclear site licence conditions.
• Commercial or supplier-management experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project Quality Assurance and Quality Control arrangements.
• Support Project Quality Control Plans and quality requirements within contracts and procurement activities.
• Review and monitor contractor Quality Assurance Plans and Inspection & Test Plans.
• Support supplier audits, inspections and surveillance activities using a risk-based approach.
• Monitor and help resolve non-conformances, corrective actions and quality issues.
• Support the management and review of Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs) and other quality documentation.
• Work closely with contractors, suppliers, inspection bodies and internal stakeholders to maintain effective quality arrangements.
• Identify and escalate quality risks and support timely resolution.
• Provide quality expertise to multi-disciplinary teams and promote continuous improvement.
• Monitor and report quality performance and support delivery of project quality objectives.

The opportunity:

Join the Sizewell C (SZC) team and play a key role in one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects.

As a Quality Engineer, you’ll help ensure quality requirements are met across the project lifecycle, from design and procurement through to construction, commissioning and close-out. You’ll work closely with project teams, contractors and suppliers to deliver work safely, efficiently and Right First Time.

• Knowledge of quality management systems and standards, including ISO 9001 and ISO 19443.
• Experience working with suppliers and conducting supplier audits.
