About the Role

Quality Engineer — Location: Wigston. Are you a detail-driven Quality Engineer ready to make a real impact in a fast-paced, high-performance engineering environment? We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Quality Engineer to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and enhance production processes through effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Track, analyse, and report on key quality metrics (defect rates, scrap, rework, complaints).
• Investigate in-process quality issues and support decisions on rework, scrap, or use-as-is.
• Collaborate with Production and Engineering to resolve recurring quality concerns.
• Maintain and manage the calibration system for all inspection and measurement tools.
• Conduct daily checks on route cards and ensure timely closure of work orders.
• Train and support production teams in quality standards, procedures, and inspections.
• Carry out surface measurements during first-off, in-process, and final inspections.
• Support supplier qualification, audits, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and other regulatory standards.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a Quality Assurance or Inspection role within an engineering/manufacturing setting.
• Sound knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and other quality management systems.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and understand tolerancing.
• Proficient with precision inspection tools: verniers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Confident communicator — both written and verbal.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive, hands-on approach.
• Good IT skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook; MRP experience is a bonus.
• Solid awareness of Health & Safety practices in a production environment.
