We are currently looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Product Quality Engineer to join our dynamic Quality team. This is your chance to play a key role in ensuring our products and services meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards.
As a Product Quality Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for customer quality related issues. You will enable production to maintain and improve quality, cost & delivery performance through online Quality support and approval of standard operating procedures, suitability of jigs and visual inspection aids. You will also understand, validate methods and support processes that meet or exceed customer requirements.
The Product Quality Engineer role will involve:
Production Processes & Quality Systems
- Owning product quality
- Interacting with and liaising with customers
- Publishing and monitoring yield performance in line with agreed KPI's
- Quality lead for contract reviews / production readiness reviews / build reviews
- Ownership of Quality Clinic and MRB process
- Conducting review and approval of RMA reports
- Facilitating the generation and issue of customer SCAR reports in a timely manner
- Conducting review of Material Repair Review (MRR) forms in liaison with Engineering
- Leading RMA activity, root cause analysis using tools such as 8D & 5-Why and customer feedback
- Supporting internal audits
Change Management
- Reviewing concessions / emails / engineering change notes ensuring compliance to procedures prior to job hold release to production.
- Approving Standard Operating Procedures, suitability of jigs and visual inspection aids
- Verifying and approving changes to process
Continuous Improvement
- Utilising Lean Manufacturing techniques and quality tools
- Leading quality improvement plans
- Performing yield analysis and identifying/leading CI projects
For this role you will need:- Ability to confidently and competently liaise with internal and external customers
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
- PCBA experience is essential
- Industry relevant certifications are desirable e.g. IPC
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Quality and Process Improvement tools and techniques, D/PFMEA, Control Plans, Statistical Process Control
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- ISO 9001, AS9100D working knowledge/auditing desirable
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise own workload and work effectively to deadlines
- Proactive and flexible approach
