Job summary

IMT Resourcing Solutions is seeking a Contract Quality Engineer to support the Production Quality team in Gloucester. This hands-on role involves resolving quality issues, reducing non-conformances, and driving practical shop-floor improvements.

You will lead investigations, manage NCRs and MRB, and work with Production and Engineering to implement corrective actions. On-site work Monday to Friday with a 37-hour week and an hourly rate of £27-£40 DOE.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Quality Engineering, Production Quality or Manufacturing Quality.
  • Strong root cause analysis and corrective actions, ideally including 8D.
  • Experience managing NCRs, non-conformances and MRB activity.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Good practical understanding of Quality Engineering tools and methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Hands-on with production teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Able to take ownership of quality issues and drive them through to resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead investigations into customer and internal quality concerns, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions using methodologies such as 8D.
  • Manage and progress internal and customer NCRs, ensuring issues are effectively investigated and closed.
  • Review and resolve production quality and scrap issues through the MRB process.
  • Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to identify root causes and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Support APQP activity within the assigned production area.
  • Support the development and implementation of PFMEAs, Control Plans and standardised process controls.
  • Analyse manufacturing and production data to identify trends and opportunities to improve quality performance.
  • Support process control measures, including SPC, to improve consistency and reduce process variation.
  • Conduct process capability studies and statistical analysis where required.
  • Support Quality Engineering activity associated with new products and manufacturing processes.
  • Address supplier quality issues identified within the assigned production area.
  • Support Lean and continuous improvement activity from a Quality Engineering perspective.
  • Report on Quality KPIs and support ongoing quality improvement activity.
  • Work closely with Production, Process Engineering and Operations as part of a cross-functional manufacturing team.

Quality Engineer - Production

Contract - Inside IR35 - Gloucester - Monday to Friday - 37 Hours - £27-£40 per hour DOE

My client, an established manufacturer based in Gloucester, is looking for a Contract Quality Engineer to support their Production Quality team.

This is a hands-on, production-focused contract where you'll work closely with Manufacturing, Process Engineering and Operations to resolve quality issues, reduce non-conformances and drive practical improvements across the shop floor.

We're looking for someone who can get up to speed quickly, take ownership of quality issues and work effectively with production teams to drive problems through to resolution.

About You:
  • Previous experience within Quality Engineering, Production Quality or Manufacturing Quality.
  • Strong practical knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action, ideally including 8D.
  • Experience managing NCRs, non-conformances and/or MRB activity.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Good practical understanding of Quality Engineering tools and methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable working directly with production teams in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Able to take ownership of quality issues and drive them through to resolution.
  • Available to work on-site in Gloucester Monday to Friday.
Desirable:
  • Experience within automotive, aerospace, precision engineering or another regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA and Control Plans.
  • Experience with SPC and process capability.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 environments.
  • Internal auditing experience.
  • Experience supporting Lean or continuous improvement activity.
