Job summary

Green Folk is seeking a Contract Quality Engineer to join on-site in Fernhill Heath, Worcester. The role is a 12-24 month contract with a daily rate of £300–£350 outside IR35, working Mon-Thu 8:00–16:30 and Fri 08:00–14:00.

The successful candidate will prevent non-conformances, lead 8D improvement activities, conduct internal/external audits, and ensure compliance with UK standards while coordinating with Manufacturing, Engineering and Operations.

Qualifications

• Prevent non-conformances, customer complaints, concessions and rework with Manufacturing/Engineering/Operations to develop corrective/preventive actions.
• Maintain procedures and processes ensuring compliance to UK, legal and customer specifications.
• Ensure internal audits and supplier/subcontractor audits are conducted to minimize non-value added.
• Deliver corrective actions and resolve non-compliance on time.
• Develop improvement and communication protocols across systems and processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead 8D improvement activities with cross-functional teams.
• Audit experience: perform internal/external audits.
• Define key improvement activities to improve quality performance (scrap/attrition/rework/OTD).

Contract Quality Engineer

Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm and 8am to 2pm Friday

£300 - £350 a day outside IR35

12-24-month contract

Our client is a leading manufacturer supplying to customers globally. The work on site is precision manufacturing using a variety of specialist production processes.

Key Tasks and Personal background needed

• Work to prevent non-conformances, customer complaints, concession and rework alongside Manufacturing/ Engineering and Operations to develop corrective and preventative actions within required time-frame
• Maintain procedures and processes ensuring companywide compliance to UK, legal and customer specifications and standards
• Ensure effective internal audits happen as well as assessment and audit of subcontractors to minimise non-value added
• Ensure that corrective actions are delivered and non-compliance issues are resolved on time
• Develop improvement and communication protocol within all systems and processes across the business
• Review all new potential business for feasibility and profitability, and any SDS (System Design Specification) project management milestone reviews to ensure successful on quality, cost and timing
• Support project management to cross functional activity required for project execution
• Report on Quality activities on a regular basis to the Senior Management team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the relevant Key Performance Indicators
• Ensure that Environmental, Health and Safety, and quality standards and procedures are adhered to
• Liaise with key customers to resolve any identified issues
• Work with unit leaders to develop internal processes/procedures.
• Lead 8D improvement activities with cross functional teams.
• Auditing experience (Perform internal/external audits)
• Define key improvement activities to improve the company's quality performance (using appropriate data to identify the key issues affecting quality performance i.e scrap/attrition/rework/OTD)
