Job description

Quality Engineer / Quality Assurance Engineer required to join an engineering business based in Fareham, who supply electromechanical equipment into the Defence, Maritime, Communications and Automation industries.

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and improving quality standards for engineered products as well as using root cause analysis to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. As part of your role, you’ll be communicating with customers and suppliers.

The successful Quality Engineer will have proven experience within a quality assurance position using root cause analysis, with exposure to electro-mechanical manufactured/assembled equipment, electrical / electronic and mechanical components, assemblies or similar.

Role
Identifying and correcting quality issues for electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment
Use of root cause analysis
Liaise with customers and suppliers
Customer complaint and non-conformance investigation, communication and corrective actions
Use of quality tools, such as 8D, 5 whys, fishbone, etc.
Working to engineering drawings
Reporting to the Quality Engineer
Use of measuring & metrology equipment
Site based in Fareham

Requirements
Proven experience as a Quality Engineer, Quality Assurance Engineer or similar with root cause analysis exposure
Ability to read engineering drawings
Exposure to electro-mechanical manufactured/assembled equipment, electrical / electronic and mechanical components, assemblies or similar.
Commutable to Fareham
