About

Are you a detail-oriented Quality Engineer looking for a new, exciting opportunity?

Butler Ross is currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer on behalf of an organization involved in the defence sector. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in playing a key role in ensuring high-quality product and project performance, compliance, and driving continuous improvement.

This opportunity offers a salary from £45,000 to £50,000 (potentially higher depending on experience) and will be based at their site in Fareham.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Review Quality Plans, FUDs, Inspection & Test Plans, and QA/NDT documentation
  • Interpret codes, standards, and specifications to ensure compliance
  • Collaborate with QA Manager and Project Leads on documentation and QA deliverables
  • Ensure Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) conformity
  • Conduct weld fit-up inspections and visual inspections
  • Validate welder qualifications and ensure prolongation is maintained
  • Perform cleanliness inspections and ensure material traceability
  • Manage calibration control of inspection tools and equipment
Ideal Experience
  • Experience in sectors such as Defence, Nuclear, Automotive, Marine, or Aerospace is beneficial
  • Project Quality and Quality Control experience
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 standards
  • Proficiency in PPAP, MSA, GR&R, and process mapping
  • Supplier development and document control experience
  • Contract and Specification review skills (RFQ, Drawing Specs)
