Quality Engineer
Location: Kent / Essex border
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000, 4 day week Monday - Thursday 37 hours, plus pension, life insurance, many other benefits
Our client is looking for a Skilled Aerospace Quality Engineer this role is located on the Kent / Essex border. Please note this is a full-time role but over a 4-day week.
Quality Engineer Duties:
- To maintain quality control within the manufacturing process, in line with business standards and customer requirements.
- Assist in FAIR / LAIR compilation and approving.
- Responsible for the approval status of the associated test equipment and activities.
- Responsible for product Release.
- Assisting in technical reviews as required and liaising with the team.
- To contribute to the quality system maintenance in accordance with the requirement of ISO 9001:2008 / AS 9100 and is subject to regular audits and reviews.
- Participate in meetings with the Manufacturing Team.
- Promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout manufacturing showcasing continuous Improvement and 5S Mind set.
- Ensure the correct use of calibrated measurement systems for the purposes of inspection of product and carry out gauge R&R as directed by QMS.
- Monitor and report on subcontract performance as directed
- Monitor scrap and rework in line with quality plans and report.
Quality Engineer Requirements:
- Experienced in the aerospace sector.
- Strong ability to read and understand technical drawings and specification
- Familiar with auditing procedures and recent First Article Experience
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of Quality and or Aerospace Standards (ISO 9000, AS9100, EASA Part 21, EASA Part 145)
- Problem Solving Skills within an engineering environment - preferably 8D
- Continuous Improvement and 5S Mind set
- Effective communicator at all levels both verbal and written
- Strong initiative and time management skills, able to balance priorities confidently with minimum supervision
- Attention to detail, including numeracy
- Work with colleagues to ensure the implementation of the company’s policies and goals.
Please note this is a full-time role but over a 4-day week.
