Job description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our clients team on a major civil engineering project with the Environment Agency. This is a long-term contract opportunity, offering the chance to play a key role in ensuring quality standards are delivered across all stages of the works.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and monitoring of the project’s Quality Management System.
• Ensure all construction activities comply with project specifications, industry standards, and EA requirements.
• Carry out inspections, audits, and surveillance of works on site.
• Lead on quality documentation, including ITPs, check sheets, NCRs, and corrective actions.
• Liaise with the design, engineering, and construction teams to ensure quality is embedded from start to finish.
• Provide training and support to project teams on quality procedures.
• Maintain strong communication with the client and stakeholders regarding quality matters.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Quality Engineer on major civil engineering projects (EA or infrastructure experience desirable).
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes, ISO standards, and civil engineering best practices.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Civil Engineering degree, HND, or equivalent experience).
