Objective of the Position: Support Production, Quality, and Engineering by providing resources and reducing scrap, rework, and defects internally.
The position incumbent ensures:
- Act as the Customer advocate, working with customer locations to understand product usage, identify assembly issues, and drive resolution.
- Reduce and prevent defects from reaching customers, following AIAG and TS 16949 guidelines.
- Train associates, engineers, and management in core quality tools including the 8 Quality Basics.
- Audit plant floor and weld cells for issues and risks of defects.
- Review Work Instructions and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to update them to include in-process inspections, 1st off checks, and end-of-line inspections.
- Review gauge instructions for accuracy and perform Gauge R&R studies.
- Track, document, and analyze customer issues and returns.
- Participate in Plant Level Program Management initiatives and ensure APQP deliverables are completed on time.
- Support the Metrology Lab by conducting CMM programming and layout.
- Identify root causes and implement corrective actions for defects (QPS & 8D).
- Create and update gauge instructions; train Gage Control personnel as needed.
- Coach and mentor team members in problem-solving activities.
- Schedule and ensure proper layouts (CMM) for parts for PPAP, customer, and supplier; review and update as needed.
- Coordinate product certification via PPAP with the customer.
The position incumbent ensures:
- Conduct all business activities for Eberspaecher within legal requirements.
- Support and comply with all local and corporate HSE policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in quality-related tasks, following TS16949 and ISO 14001 policies; seek continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirement Profile:
Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Quality or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of automotive manufacturing experience.
- Experience in GD&T, CMM programming, Tier 1 automotive product launch, supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, supervisory roles, and gage control.
- Program management and quality assurance knowledge.
- Ability to travel domestically.
- Training in PPAP, APQP, GD&T, blueprint reading, SPC, and TS16949/internal audits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
