Working with the Quality Manager and operational teams, develop the skills and confidence to investigate non-conformances, identify risks and contribute to sustainable improvements. This role suits a candidate with a manufacturing or quality foundation who is motivated to develop into an independent Quality Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Support compliance with drawings, specifications, customer requirements and company procedures; identify concerns and help coordinate their resolution.
- Problem Solving & Corrective Action: Assist with investigations into internal and external non-conformances, learn structured root cause techniques such as 8D, and support implementation and verification of corrective actions.
- Internal Auditing: Participate in AS9100, AS13100 and company process audits; progressively develop the ability to carry out audits and follow findings through to closure.
- Customer & Supplier Quality: Support customer returns and supplier quality concerns, developing clear and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Calibration & Equipment Control: Help maintain Gagepack records and the calibration status of gauges, instruments, CMMs and relevant process equipment; coordinate external calibration as required.
- Documentation & Technical Compliance: Develop confidence interpreting engineering drawings, route cards and specifications; assist with maintaining procedures, work instructions and controlled documents.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, defects and variation, and help operational teams implement practical improvements.
- New Product Introduction: Support Engineering and Production with quality risks, inspection requirements and robust manufacturing controls for new products.
