Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team on a full time, permanent position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance within the aerospace sector, particularly in the manufacturing of aero structures and metallic components. This role will involve working closely with our production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure that all products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure all products meet industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Inspection and Testing: Oversee and conduct inspections and testing of aerospace components, including aero-engine casings, nacelle beams, and engine mounts, to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Non-Conformance Management: Identify, document, and manage non-conformances, working closely with production teams to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the quality department, focusing on enhancing product quality, process efficiency, and reducing waste.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including inspection reports, quality records, and audit findings. Provide regular reports on quality performance to management.
  • Customer Liaison: Act as a point of contact for customer quality issues, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all processes and products comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements, including AS9100 and other applicable certifications.
Key Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Quality Engineer in the aerospace manufacturing industry, with a focus on aero structures and metallic components.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of quality assurance principles, inspection / SPC techniques, and industry standards, including AS9100.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and liaise with customers.
  • Location: Must be based in or willing commute to Craigavon, Northern Ireland onsite each day.
Hours

Monday – Thursday 07.00 – 16.00
Fri 07.00 – 12.00noon

Salary discussed at interview, depending on experience
