Job summary

An established component and parts manufacturing company in Basildon is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their quality team for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role involves customer complaint resolution, conducting audits, and ensuring quality standards during new product introduction. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in an engineering or quality discipline and have experience in aerospace manufacturing. Strong communication skills and knowledge of applicable standards are essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification in an engineering/quality discipline or relevant experience.
  • Experience within defence/aerospace manufacturing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of AS900 and NADCAP Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of complaint resolution including communication and corrective action.
  • Conduct internal audits to the required standards and support audits.
  • Responsible for all quality aspects of New Product Introduction.

Job description

Our client, an established component and parts manufacturing company, is currently recruiting a Quality Engineer to join their quality team for a 12 month FTC. The Quality Engineer will be responsible supporting the Business and Customer in all Quality aspects, both current and new production plus develop and improve the business, with a focus on Quality, Cost and Delivery.


Key Responsibilities for the Quality Engineer:

  • Customer Complaint Resolution: Responsible for all aspects of complaint resolution including customer/internal communication, root cause analysis (8D) & corrective action implementation
  • Audit: conduct internal audit to the required standards (e.g. AS9100, NADCAP), support/host external audit and customer visits, complete/support non-conformance reports and implementation of corrective actions
  • NPI: Responsible for all quality aspects of New Product Introduction including use of appropriate tools where required (e.g. PPAP, FMEA, APQP), production of First Article Inspection Reports, customer communication, resolution of issues, creation of route cards and supporting documentation
  • Process Improvement: conduct data analysis, support selection of improvement activities, lead and support application of appropriate improvement toolset (e.g. Lean Six Sigma, RCA etc)

Skills Required for the Quality Engineer:

  • Degree level qualification in an engineering/quality discipline or relevant experience
  • Experience within defence/aerospace manufacturing is preferred
  • Knowledge of AS900 and NADCAP Standards
  • Experience with using QMS
  • Strong communication skills
