Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Quality Coordinator to support a major data centre construction project. The role involves on-site QA/QC oversight, ITP review, and development of BIM-based QC tools.

The candidate will operate in Finland with possible travel to Norway, and may base in-country or travel significantly. The ideal candidate has a strong civil engineering background, extensive quality management experience on large projects, and familiarity with regulations, IFCs, and commissioning

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as Quality Manager on major construction projects.
• Data centre/technology project experience preferred but not essential.
• Experience in consultancy, general contractor or client-side environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee CSA activities on-site during construction and handover phases.
• Review and approve ITPs, check-sheets and QA documentation.
• Develop QA/QC checklists and translate to BIM format for assets.
• Ensure contractors comply with ITPs and complete QC checklists in BIM 360.
• Identify discrepancies and escalate quality issues to the PMC Quality Manager.
• Assist with start-up, commissioning protocols, and witness relevant systems.

Role description

We’re looking for an experienced Quality Coordinator to join our rapidly growing team. You will play a key role in the delivery of one of our biggest data centre construction projects in Finland. The successful candidate will be based either 100% in country, or there will be significant international travel to Norway (11/3 rotations)

Duties

• Daily on-site presence overseeing CSA activities throughout construction and handover phases
• Review and approval of ITPs, check-sheets, etc.
• Benchmarking workmanship standards
• Verifying ongoing works against benchmarks, ensuring compliance with established workmanship standards
• Developing QA/QC checklists and converting to BIM format for use with individual assets
• Verifying ongoing works against benchmarks, ensuring compliance with established workmanship standards
• Ensuring contractors comply with their ITPs and complete QC checklists within BIM 360
• Confirming adherence to project specifications, IFC drawings, codes and standards
• Identifying discrepancies, overseeing, monitoring and expediting resolution of issues arising
• Verifying calibration status of monitoring and measuring equipmentMonitor the progressive generation of red line drawings and as-built records
• Review and report on the accuracy of red-line and as built records
• Escalating potential quality issues to PMC Quality Manager, as required for resolution
• Providing guidance and input to SPCs in pursuit of continual improvement
• Assisting with start-up and commissioning protocols, witnessing the commissioning of mechanical systems (HVAC, pumps, piping, critical cooling, fire protection, etc)
• Sign-off of completed construction works and checks before energisation
• Identifying lessons learned and promoting continual improvement of operations

Skills

• CSA works inspection of data centres or other mission-critical environments
• Large-scale projects, data centres preferred
• Proficient in the interpretation and application of design information
• Strong understanding of local regulations and project management principles
• Strong IT ability (BIM 360 & Google suite)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and proactively, prioritise and solve problems
• Detail-focussed
• Team player with good interpersonal skills
