Job summary

People’s Partnership is seeking a Quality, Controls & Regulatory Specialist in the Crawley area to deliver 1st line operational assurance across processes. You will conduct DE and OE testing, perform QA sampling, and participate in calibration sessions to ensure controls meet regulatory and policy requirements.

You will provide independent assurance, identify weaknesses or risks, and support teams in strengthening control maturity and overall quality, while working in a flexible, hybrid

Qualifications

  • Experience in control testing with design and operating effectiveness assessments (DE/OE).
  • Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks (Three Lines Model).
  • Ability to execute testing with accuracy and objectivity.
  • Strong analytical and data evaluation skills, including root cause analysis.
  • Clear communication to summarise findings for diverse audiences.
  • Awareness of assurance documentation (test scripts, walkthroughs, reports).
  • High attention to detail and disciplined organisational focus.
  • Experience in Financial Services; pensions knowledge beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Experience working within a controls or assurance function.

What you'll be doing:

The Quality, Controls & Regulatory Specialist is responsible for delivering robust 1st line operational assurance, combining control testing, quality assurance (QA), attestation activity, and calibration responsibilities into a multi-skilled role.

You will conduct comprehensive design effectiveness (DE) and operating effectiveness (OE) testing, delivers structured QA sampling, runs calibration sessions, and provide real-time operational feedback. You will assess whether controls and quality standards are effectively designed, operating as intended, and aligned to regulatory, risk and policy requirements.

You provide independent, evidence-based assurance across operational processes, identify weaknesses or emerging risks, recommend improvements, and support control owners and operational teams in strengthening control maturity and overall quality.
