Job description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading food processing company, who are seeking a Quality Controller to join their Retail Packing Facility based in Omagh, Co. Tyrone. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a well-established business with a strong presence in the UK and Ireland.

As a Quality Control Operative, you will report to the Technical Manager and be responsible for ensuring all products meet both customer and company standards for quality and food safety.

This role operates Monday to Friday, offering a 40-hour workweek between 06:00 and 17:30 during standard operations, with opportunities for additional hours and occasional Saturday work. The starting pay is £12.71 per hour, with the potential for an increase to £13.21 per hour after the successful completion of a 6-month probation period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor product quality from intake to finished product, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards, including temperature control, fat analysis, weight checks, and label verification.

  • Record and address non-conformance issues, providing reports to suppliers and taking corrective actions.

  • Conduct sensory analysis of products in the test kitchen.

  • Support New Product Development (NPD) trials and assist with product launches.

Essential Criteria:

  • A good understanding of Quality Control processes.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.

  • Proficient in IT.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively.

  • Ability to work independently, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with a proactive and safety-conscious attitude.
