This role involves shift work – 12 hour shifts, covering days, nights and weekend work.

Salary - £37,000 per annum increasing to £39,500 upon completion of the first phase of the training matrix, with a further increase to £42,000 upon the second phase of the training matrix.

Purpose of the job

Perform tasks and provide services to support the plant's overall business plans and quality control objectives as directed, by way of performing controls regarding quality control equipment, and completing quality control checks.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

· Have quality knowledge and apply the company decisions about quality and improvement

· Regular quality control checks

· Perform controlling of quality control equipment

· Arrange inspection frequency in accordance with the situation of process, present quality problems, perform verification

· Have knowledge about and apply principals of ISO 9001, ISO 14001

· Be aware of, and improve quality control procedures and instructions

· Have knowledge on usage of testing equipment

· Have knowledge on, and follow-up the calibration state of quality control equipment

· Detect from which department the quality incompatibilities can arise, and inform and notify relevant unit operators, and Shift Manager

· Keep quality control equipment clean and use properly

PERSON SPECIFICATION

· Experience for 2 years minimum in a production/manufacturing environment

· Working knowledge of the following areas: product specifications and customer needs and expectations

· Ability to apply standard plant quality assurance techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of plant quality assurance tasks

· Ability to operate and functionally use a computer

· Communication: Must be able to read and comprehend complicated materials and instructions and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing

· Ability to meet deadlines and to concentrate and pay attention to detail

· Decision Making and Problem Solving

· Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data in order to make recommendations

· Confidentiality: Must be able to handle and safeguard sensitive and proprietary information in a confidential manner
