Job description

A well-established precision engineering company specialising in plastic injection moulding is looking for a dedicated Quality Controller to join its growing team. Supplying technically complex components to industries including medical, electronics, water management, and defence, the company has built a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and reliability.

As the Quality Controller, you'll play a key role in ensuring all products meet strict process and customer specifications - from approving First-Offs to carrying out regular inspections and escalating any issues promptly.

Key Duties:
  • Inspect and monitor production to ensure all First-Offs and Last-Offs meet specification.
  • Complete and maintain all relevant documentation accurately.
  • Support operators to ensure they understand and meet required quality standards.
  • Contribute to 8D project teams, assisting with investigation, analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Operate and program specialised measuring equipment to carry out dimensional checks.
  • Analyse scrap data and escalate any concerns to the Quality Engineer.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Proven experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment, ideally plastics.
  • Skilled in using measuring tools such as digital callipers, shadow graphs, pin gauges, and slip gauges.
  • Confident reading and interpreting quality check sheets and basic engineering drawings.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office and MRP systems.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about continuous improvement.
