Qualifications

Job Title: Quality Controller

Location: Rosyth, Fife

Compensation: £39,237 - £46,064 + Shift allowance + Overtime + Benefits

Role Type: Full time / Permanent

The role

As a Quality Controller, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our fabrications meet the highest standards of precision and safety. Working on the Successor Programme, you’ll help deliver critical components for the UK’s defence infrastructure.

Day-to-day you’ll be:

  • Confirming parts are identified and traceable to certification
  • Carrying out quality control inspections before, during and after welding
  • Conducting fabrication workmanship inspections and audits
  • Ensuring fabrication and construction standards are met
  • Raising and coordinating non-destructive testing (NDT) activities

This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based at Rosyth. Shift patterns include: Night Shift – 9:45 PM to 7:00 AM (4 nights), and Day Shift – 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (5 days)

Essential experience of the Quality Controller

  • Understanding of fabrication and welding processes and standards preferably NAVSEA
  • Ability to read and interpret technical standards and drawings
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Well organised and able to meet tight deadlines

Qualifications for the Quality Controller

  • SVQ / ONC in a relevant subject
  • Ideally hold a welding inspection qualification (CSWIP 3.1)
  • Willingness to work towards Welding Inspection Qualification in accordance with SNT-TC-1A Level 2

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
